Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky composed 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy' for his ballet 'The Nutcracker' (Op. 71, 1892), and it is notable for being one of the earliest orchestral pieces to feature the celesta, an instrument Tchaikovsky kept secret before the premiere to preserve the effect. The ethereal, tinkling sound of the celesta perfectly evokes the magical Sugar Plum Fairy.
