Antonio Vivaldi's 'Winter' (L'Inverno, RV 297) is the fourth and final concerto of 'The Four Seasons' (Le Quattro Stagioni, c. 1720), a set of four violin concertos that are among the most famous Baroque works. Each concerto is accompanied by a sonnet describing the season, and 'Winter' vividly depicts the biting cold and storms through rapid figurations and stark contrasts.
