Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D (c. 1680) is one of the most recognizable pieces of Baroque music, built upon a repeating bass line over which three violins play a continuous canon. This brass ensemble arrangement by Lonnie L. Souder II adapts its harmonious progressions into a sacred "Sanctus" setting, drawing a connection between the timeless Canon and liturgical tradition.
