"The Flight of the Bumblebee" is a famous orchestral interlude composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844–1908) for his opera "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" (1900), depicting a prince transformed into a bumblebee. Renowned for its rapid chromatic runs and extremely fast tempo, it has become one of the most recognized pieces of virtuosic music and a popular showpiece for instrumentalists of all kinds.
